Meet The Doctor

Debra Araujo

Dentist

Dr. Debra Araujo is a southern California transplant, having lived up and down the state. She settled in Sonoma County ten years ago. Dr. Araujo was raised just ten miles from Disneyland where she had her first job experience as a ride operator on Space Mountain. She completed her B.A. in Art History at the University of California in Santa Barbara. She originally planned to attend medical school but realized she was better suited for dentistry. She got her dental education at the Loma Linda School of Dentistry. Dr. has over twenty years of clinical experience; from private practice, a correctional facility and then to public health clinics. As part of the system of Federally Qualified Health Centers these clinics serve an underserved population and she established two of them from the ground up. She has also spent time in several third world countries treating dental patients.

Dr. Araujo has two adult sons of which she is very proud. Her oldest is an avid bicyclist. He is also a talented guitarist and luthier. Her youngest graduated from Sonoma State University and completed his teaching credential. He is a classical saxophonist and is currently teaching band. When she is not working Dr. Araujo is either quilting or painting abstract art, or playing with her two rescue dogs and one cat. She enjoys travel and has driven through or visited most of the United States, including Alaska. Dr. Araujo enjoys experiencing other cultures and has traveled to Europe, Asia, Africa, Central America, and the Caribbean. Her bucket list includes revisiting Nepal, taking the train across the United Kingdom and Europe, attending a jazz festival in New Orleans and hiking in Yosemite.
